Tooth Fillings

Many of you may have silver fillings. For generations, they were the standard for repairing damaged teeth. However, in recent years, we have discovered that they have some major disadvantages and are not ideal for your health or your look. Porcelain inlays and tooth-colored fillings now standard of care. They are safe, strong, and look great! Not only do they blend flawlessly with your bright smile, but they are also stronger and can strengthen teeth weakened by decay.

There are multiple styles of restoring teeth with “Fills”;

  • Composite Fillings flow and form into missing tooth structure  due to cavities or fracture.
  • Porcelain Onlays or Inlays are small pieces of porcelain custom shaped and bonded to the teeth creating a tight and superior fit to the natural tooth. Such restorations can be used in instances where too much of the tooth structure has been lost to do a filling. The tooth remains intact and stronger
  • Glass Ionomer/Silver Diamine Fluoride – This is a less esthetic option but fights well against high cavity risk teeth and deep decay near the nerve.
